Our 28th Season

August 2022

Frederic Warren Bursch     1951-2021

We here at the Alexandria Festival of the Lakes were deeply saddened by the recent passing of Frederic Warren Bursch.

Fred was passionate about music.  In high school, he played bass in the orchestra,

and throughout his life, he loved all music, from classical to bluegrass, from folk and rhythm blues to jazz and light rock.

Fred was instrumental in helping to organize the Alexandria Festival of the Lakes.  Fred was an extremely generous man, and he graciously provided transportation for visiting Festival musicians through his company, Bursch Travel.

Fred loved this concert series, and was seated in our audience as often as his busy schedule would allow.

We will not be seeing Fred this August, and we will miss him very much.

The Festival Board of Directors would like to dedicate the 2022 Festival of the Lakes

to the memory of our longtime benefactor and friend, Fred Bursch.
